Many of the best sights and sounds are within walking distance including highlights such as the picturesque canal district, Damsquare, Leidseplein and Leidsestraat, Rembrandtplein, the 9 little shopping streets and the famous LGBTQ+ friendly street for partying: Reguliersdwarsstraat.

The popular NH Krasnapolsky has a great city centre location overlooking Dam Square, near sights and shops, and about halfway between the gay cruise club scene in Warmesstraat and the gay bars around Amstel river.

The building dates back to 1855, but the modern air-conditioned guest rooms are spacious and feature contemporary bathrooms, free WiFi and satellite TV.

The NH has its own gym, though the nearby Sauna Nieuwezijds may be more tempting. Rates are competitive.
